The launch of new property portal OntheMarket.com means that when sellers hire an estate agent, they can no longer assume that their home will be listed on all of the major portals. Agents using OntheMarket.com are not allowed to also list properties on both Rightmove and Zoopla.
SellingUp.com has created an easy-to-use map, below, so you can see quickly and easily which agents in your area are using OntheMarket.com.

Why OntheMarket.com matters to home sellers
OntheMarket.com has been created by estate agents themselves as a more direct and potentially cost-saving (for agents) way of listing properties for sale, instead of relying on the two established portals, Rightmove and Zoopla.
Estate agents joining OntheMarket must agree to choose only one of the two big portals to also use (or neither should they prefer).
This means that sellers can no longer expect their property to appear on the two big portals should their agent be an OntheMarket.com member.
Some commentators believe that unless a property is listed on both Rightmove and Zoopla, it will suffer from reduced exposure and fewer viewings.
OntheMarket.com claims that it offers a superior property search experience and an ‘early bird listings’ feature which means properties show up on their website before they will on Rightmove and Zoopla.
In either case, knowing which portals an estate agent lists on could help sellers choose the right company, and may be important for achieving a fast and successful property sale.
About this map
The map has divided the UK into key regions so sellers can quickly see at a glance if the estate agent they have already hired – or are considering hiring – is an OntheMarket.com member.
The map contains a comprehensive list of 4700+ estate agents who were named as members of OntheMarket.com on February 23rd, 2015. It is intended to be a helpful reference point for home sellers and is only confirmed to be valid on this date.
As agents join or leave OntheMarket.com the results above will become less accurate so please check with the estate agents themselves or go to OntheMarket.com before making any decisions based upon this information.
